Dynamic mechanisms of tight gas accumulation and numerical simulation methods: Narrowing the gap between theory and field application

Despite the significant progress made in tight gas exploration and development recent years, understanding of dynamic mechanisms accumulation is still limited, numerical simulation methods are lacking. In fact, gap between theory field application has become an obstacle to development. This work sheds light on hydrocarbon formations from aspect capillary self-sealing by embedding calculation pressure- temperature-dependent force a pore network model. The microscale scaled up reservoir level geological simulation, quantitative evaluation reserves based real sections realized. From results, several considerations assist with resource assessment sweet spot prediction. Firstly, effect micro-nano pore-throat system at core sandstone theory; hydrocarbon-generated expansion driving force, comprises resistance. Furthermore, microscopic studies can be embedded into model using relative permeability curve curve. Field achieved simulations scale.
